Amec Foster Wheeler awarded new Scottish underground cable contract

Amec Foster Wheeler announces today that it has been awarded an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract by Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission, part of the SSE group, for a new 275 kV (kilovolt) cable between Keith and Blackhillock substations in Moray, in the north of Scotland.

Amec Foster Wheeler will design, build and install the new cable, which will enable the integration of renewably generated energy into the electricity network.

The 18 month contract, the value of which is not disclosed, combines Amec Foster Wheeler’s electricity transmission design and construction capability with its proven underground pipeline knowledge and experience.
