John J. Joyce, President & Chief Executive Officer commented, “Ambient has earned a position in the Russell index as a result of investors recognizing our Company’s success as an innovative and leading provider of smart grid communications technologies.  The Russell indices are important performance benchmarks for a broad cross-section of the global investment community, and as such, we expect to further heighten investor awareness of our Company.”

The Russell 3000 also serves as the U.S. component to the Russell Global Index.  Membership in these indices is evaluated on an annual basis.

Russell indices are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for both passive and active investment strategies.  These investment tools originated from Russell’s multi-manager investment business in the early 1980s when the company saw the need for a more objective, market-driven set of benchmarks in order to evaluate outside investment managers.
