RWE Dea increases North Sea exploration portfolio

RWE Dea has increased its North Sea exploration portfolio gaining stakes in three part blocks in the course of part one of the British 25th Licensing Round, including one as Operator.Two of the part blocks 48/10c (RWE Dea 40% and Operator) and 44/29c (RWE Dea 40%) are adjacent to existing fields in RWE Dea’s core area of the gas prone Southern North Sea. Part block 30/1f (RWE Dea 25%) is located in the Central North Sea.
Rene Pawel, Managing Director of RWE Dea UK, commented: “These licence awards consolidate our acreage position around existing RWE Dea fields in the Southern North Sea, and contribute to increasing exploration activities in the Central North Sea. We also look forward to receiving a decision in due course on the two outstanding applications.”
