Subsea UK is urging companies and individuals to nominate their outstanding achievements for the prestigious 2013 Subsea Business Awards.

The highly coveted subsea industry awards which are now in their seventh year celebrate innovation and excellence across the subsea sector and recognise exceptional achievements at all levels.

Categories recognise achievements across the business spectrum, ranging from Outstanding Contribution to Young Emerging Talent.

Neil Gordon, chief executive of Subsea UK, said: “As the subsea industry continues to go from strength to strength our awards offer a great opportunity to celebrate the world-class achievements from individuals and companies across the sector.

“The UK subsea sector continues to lead the way globally, priding itself on its innovative technological solutions and pioneering thinking, our skills and business development are unrivalled internationally.”

The speaker at this year’s awards dinner will be world renowned ocean scientist, Dr Joseph MacInnes.

Dr MacInnes was the first person to dive under the North Pole and among the first five to dive to the Titanic on board the “Nautile” submersible manned vehicle. He was an advisor to the Titanic discovery team and the first Canadian to explore the world's most famous shipwreck. Working with the movie director James Cameron, he advised on the seven-mile deep scientific survey of the Mariana Trench, below the surface of the Western Pacific.
