KONGSBERG announces contract for upgrading Norway's NASAMS II air defence system

KONGSBERG has signed a contract worth 300 MNOK to deliver an upgrade to the Royal Norwegian Air Force NASAMS II air defence system.
NASAMS is produced by KONGSBERG and Raytheon. The upgrade will be completed within a timeframe of three years. The contract comprises upgrading of existing missile launchers with new electronics and software for increased performance and lifetime extension.
"The NASAMS II ground-based air defence system is an important integral part of Norway's air- and ground protection. NASAMS is the most sold air defence system in NATO, where Norway, with its experience and expertise, is a leading air-defence nation, "said Eirik Lie, Executive Vice President, Kongsberg Defence Systems.
