MGM Energy announces regulatory approvals for Canol shale oil well

MGM Energy Corp. ATP announces completion of MC 941 A-2 Telemark well

ATP Oil & Gas Corporation (NASDAQ: ATPG) today announced the completion of the workover at its Mississippi Canyon (“MC”) Block 941 A-2 well located in the Mirage Field at the Telemark Hub. The well was completed with 3 ½ inch tubing at a measured depth of 17,140 to 17,401 feet to add the Miocene B Sand completion to the wellbore for field development optimization. Initial test flow rates are at 4,000 barrels equivalent per day (Boe/d) of which 90% is oil. The A-2 well will be tied back to the facility immediately and is expected to produce at a rate of 4,000 to 5,000 Boe/d. Read more…

Shell launches breakthrough engine oil for shipping industry

LONDON, July 30, 2012 /CNW/ – Shell (NYSE:RDS.A) (NYSE:RDS.B) today launched Shell Alexia S4, its most innovative marine engine oil in a generation. Unlike conventional cylinder oils, it can be used across a wide range of vessel and engine types, fuel specifications, loads and climates – from the Antarctic to the Amazon to the Suez Canal. Shona Energy Company, Inc. provides operational update

CALGARY, July 27, 2012 /CNW/ – Shona Energy Company, Inc. (TSXV: SHO) (OTCQX: SHOAF)  (“Shona” or the “Company”), today announced that the Operator of Block 102, Pluspetrol E&P S.A. (“Pluspetrol”), has advised that Shona’s planned production test of the Boa Oeste 1X well, which was disclosed in the Company’s press release dated April 3, 2012, has been delayed.  As a result of the delay, and upon further evaluation of the benefits of the production test, the Company has determined that further expenditures on the Boa Oeste 1X well, including the cost of the proposed testing, is not economically warranted. Accordingly, Shona has elected to be a Non-Consenting Party under the terms of its Joint Operating Agreement and relinquish its rights to the Boa Oeste 1X well, as well as any future Development Area for the well. Shona will retain its 36.5 per cent working interest in the rest of Block 102. Read more…

Gazprom builds up production capacities to raise Cenomanian gas output to 115 billion cubic meters per annum at Zapolyarnoye field

Gazprom has completed construction and hookup of 42 extra production wells to produce gas from the Cenomanian deposit of the Zapolyarnoye field. This helped increasing the deposit’s nominal capacity from 100 to 115 billion cubic meters of gas per annum. Read more…
