This total price of the order is $163,298 and is the third order in the past 19 months for projects at the refinery covering both fuel oil storage tanks and an oil pipeline for insulation and corrosion prevention. Total confirms the success of the G4 well intervention

Following 5 days of close monitoring, Total is now able to confirm the success of the intervention conducted on May 15th on the leaking G4 well on the Elgin complex, 240 kilometers from Aberdeen in the UK North Sea. To regain control of the well, heavy mud was pumped into G4 well from the semi-submersible drilling rig West Phoenix. Pumping heavy mud started on May 15th at 9.20 a.m. (local time) and the leak was stopped 12 hours later. Read more…

DNO International reports record first quarter 2012 results

DNO International ASA, the Norwegian oil and gas company, today released record results for the first quarter of 2012 with operating revenues of NOK 712 million up from NOK 281 million in the first quarter of 2011. Net profit climbed to NOK 307 million compared to a loss of NOK 115 million a year earlier. First quarter 2012 EBITDA was NOK 565 million, up 285 percent on the previous year. Read more…

TGS commences two multi-client 2D surveys in Northwest Europe

TGS has commenced the Europe 2012 summer season with two multi-client 2D surveys in cooperation with Fugro; North Sea Renaissance 2012 (NSR12) and Norwegian Barents Sea 2012 (NBR12). Oakville natural gas encounter raises concerns over geothermal borehole drilling

STRATHROY, ON, May 18, 2012 /CNW/ – A geological formation containing pressurized natural gas was encountered during the drilling of a vertical borehole for a geothermal heating system in Oakville last month resulting in the evacuation of at least one house. The Ontario Ground Water Association (OGWA) supports concerns expressed by Oakville Mayor Rob Burton that this is an explosive situation. Read more…

Houston American Energy announces commencement of drilling operations on cachirre #1 well

HOUSTON, May 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ – Houston American Energy Corp. (NYSE MKT: HUSA) today announced that drilling operations have commenced on the Cachirre #1 well, its second well on the CPO 4 block in Colombia.  The well is expected to be drilled to a total measured depth of approximately 9,500 feet.  Drilling and testing of the well is expected to be completed within 60 days.  Well results will be announced when available.
