Beach Energy provides monthly drilling report

In PEL 218 (Beach 100%), workover operations at Encounter-1 have been completed. A diagnostic fracture injection test of the Patchawarra Formation was successfully conducted on 3 April which indicated fracture initiation pressures consistent with the Holdfast-1 well. The main fracture stimulation program will commence in the second half of April, once the fracture stimulation equipment is released from the Moomba-191 well (SACB JV, Beach 20.21%). Read more…

Anadarko successfully completes planned appraisal drilling program in discovery Area Offshore mozambique

Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: APC) today announced that with the success of its Barquentine-4 appraisal well, the partnership has completed the drilling portion of its planned appraisal program in the discovery area offshore Mozambique. The Barquentine-4 well, located in Offshore Area 1 of the Rovuma Basin, encountered approximately 525 net feet (160 meters) of natural gas pay, and became the Anadarko partnership’s ninth successful well in the complex. LINN Energy announces $400 million joint venture with Anadarko in the Salt Creek Oil Field

LINN Energy, LLC (Nasdaq:LINE) announced today a joint-venture agreement with an affiliate of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:APC), whereby LINN will participate as a partner in the CO2 enhanced oil recovery development of the Salt Creek field, located in the Powder River Basin of Wyoming. Anadarko assigned LINN 23 percent of its interest in the field in exchange for future funding of $400 million of Anadarko’s development costs. Over the next three to six years, LINN expects to invest a total of $600 million, which includes the $400 million of Anadarko’s costs and $200 million net to LINN’s assigned interest. Anadarko has been utilizing CO2 to develop this field since 2004 with outstanding results, and additional development associated with this joint venture is expected to double current production by 2015. Alberta Star Development Corp. (TSXV: ASX) (the “Company”) is pleased to announce that the Company has placed on production its newly drilled well on the Company’s Landrose property located in west-central Saskatchewan. The Company is pleased to provide and operations update to its March 13, 2012 press release, confirming that the new well, located on Section 6-50-25-W3M, has been producing for the past week at the average rate of approximately 140 bbls/d (net of a 7% water cut), for a net production of 70 bbls/d to the Company.
