FuelCell Energy Announces Co-Production of Renewable Hydrogen for Vehicle Fueling From a Direct FuelCell(R) Power Plant

FuelCell Energy, Inc. (Nasdaq:FCEL) a leading manufacturer of ultra-clean, efficient and reliable power plants, today announced a commissioning event for the Direct FuelCell(R) (DFC(R)) power plant that is providing renewable hydrogen for vehicle fueling along with ultra-clean electricity for the Orange County Sanitation District (OCSD) in Fountain Valley, California. The power plant efficiently converts biogas generated from the wastewater treatment process into ultra-clean electricity for use by OCSD and renewable hydrogen for an on-site vehicle fueling station operated by Air Products (NYSE:APD). Project participants include FuelCell Energy, Air Products and the National Fuel Cell Research Center at the University of California Irvine with support from California Air Resources Board (CARB), South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and Southern California Gas Company. Finavera Wind Energy Submits Environmental Assessment Application for Meikle Wind Energy Project

Finavera Wind Energy Inc. (“Finavera” or the “Company”) (TSX-V: FVR) is pleased to announce it has submitted the Environmental Assessment Application for its 117 megawatt (“MW”) Meikle Wind Energy Project in British Columbia. The Application was delivered to the Environmental Assessment Office (“EAO”) and includes detailed descriptions of the project, summaries of the studies conducted to assess baseline conditions, and an extensive analysis of potential direct and cumulative impacts relating to the construction and operation of the project. The Meikle Wind Energy Project is one of the Company’s four projects that were each awarded 25 year power purchase agreements from BC Hydro in March, 2010. The Meikle project, located 20 kilometres northwest of Tumbler Ridge, is the Company’s largest wind project and is scheduled for construction in 2013. Read more…

Tesco has become the first UK retailer to receive certification from OFGEM, the government’s energy ombudsman following two years of research and development to produce a unique fully renewable ethanol bio fuel in Britain. JA Solar to Supply 21 MW of Solar Products to Huanghe Hydropower’s Large Scale Solar Project in Qinghai, China

JA Solar Holdings Co., Ltd. Sprott Power Corp.
