Conservation groups today expressed support for Louisiana’s swift action to identify and propose potential restoration projects that qualify for BP’s $1 billion down payment toward the Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) stemming from the unprecedented Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Louisiana’s release of its project list today is an important step toward getting restoration projects underway, but BP, federal and state trustees must approve the projects before the state can proceed. Texas Oil and Minerals begins the work over of the four wells in Brazoria County, Texas, taking them to full operating capacity

Texas Oil and Minerals, Inc., (“Texas Oil”) (OTC Pink: BNPD) announces that it plans to begin a work over of the four wells located in Brazoria County,Texas.  On June 13, 2011, Texas Oil entered into an agreement to purchase a 25% working interest in the Bryan Estate Lease which is part of the Damon Mound Field.  Texas Oil and Minerals with their team of geologists and engineers are structuring the procedure for the work-over and wash out of the existing wells on this lease. Pacific Drilling Signs Contract for the Pacific Scirocco

Pacific Drilling S.A. (NOTC: PDSA) announced today that a letter of Award has been converted to a definitive contract for the Pacific Scirocco following the necessary approvals from authorities. The minimum duration of the contract is for an initial one-year term, with contract commencement expected during the third quarter of 2011. The contract provides for options, to be exercised at the client’s discretion, which could result in up to four additional years of contract term with an escalating dayrate dependent upon the option timing and term elected. Estimated maximum contract revenues related to the initial one-year term are expected to be approximately $200 million, excluding client requested modifications and miscellaneous adjustments. Beach successfully flows gas from its Cooper Basin Holdfast-1 Shale Well

Beach Energy Ltd (ASX: BPT, “Beach”) advises the Holdfast-1 shale well in the Cooper Basin is currently flowing gas and some steam during ongoing clean up. Chevron Issues Interim Update for Second Quarter 2011

Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) today reported in its interim update that earnings for the second quarter 2011 are expected to be higher than in the first quarter 2011. Updated Estimates of Reserves and Resources within DNO International’s Portfolio in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq

DNO International ASA reports a more than doubling of reserves for the Tawke oil field in the Kurdistan region of Iraq following a review and assessment by a firm of independent reservoir engineers. The just completed audit of reserves by France’s Beicip Franlab places Tawke’s ultimate P50 recoverable reserves at 636 million barrels versus a yearend 2010 audited figure of 306 million barrels. Petrofac, the international oil & gas facilities service provider, announces that its Offshore Engineering & Operations (OE&O) business has been awarded a contract renewal by Marathon Oil (“Marathon”). Petrofac has been working with Marathon on its North Sea Brae assets since 2005. MHI Completes Development of “EXTREM,” New-generation LNG Carrier of “Sayaendo” Seiries with Continuous Cover for Moss-type Spherical Tanks

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) has completed development of a new-generation liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier marking an evolutionary advance from Moss-type*1 LNG carriers. The new vessel-type dubbed “EXTREM” is a type of newly developed “Sayaendo*2″ Series, which features a peapod-shaped continuous cover for the Moss spherical tanks that is integrated with the ship’s hull, in lieu of a conventional hemispherical cover. The new configuration enables greater structural efficiency and size and weight reductions, resulting not only in improvements in fuel consumption and operating economy but also in enhancements in terms of compatibility with LNG terminals and maintainability. MHI looks for the EXTREM to become a strategic product that will lead the LNG carrier market. The company is now targeting early order receipts. Read more…
