Shell to sell gas fields in South Texas to OXY USA, Inc.

Shell today announced an agreement to sell a group of gas fields in South Texas to OXY USA, Inc., a subsidiary of Occidental Petroleum Corp., for approximately $1.8 billion, effective January 1, 2011. The sale is a further step in Shell’s ongoing portfolio restructuring and focus on capital efficiency.

Gran Tierra Energy Continues to Grow its Exploration Portfolio in Peru

Gran Tierra Energy Inc. NRG Energy Expands Into New Mexico With Roadrunner Solar Project

NRG Energy, Inc. (NYSE: NRG), through its wholly owned subsidiary, NRG Solar, will break ground by year end on the Company’s first generation site in New Mexico, the Roadrunner Solar Electric Facility, a 20 megawatt (MW) photovoltaic solar project. Power from the facility will be sold to El Paso Electric Co. (NYSE: EE) under a 20-year power purchase agreement. NRG Solar plans to invest a maximum of $21 million in the project over the next three years, subject to final negotiation of the financing terms and conditions.

Farha South-5 Well Tests In Excess Of 1,500 Bopd On Pump In Block 3 Onshore Sultanate Of Oman

The 2010 drilling programme onshore the Sultane of Oman has continued with the successful testing of the Farha South-5 well (“FS-5″) on Block 3. FS-5 tested in excess of 1,500 BOPD from a 160 metres long horizontal section in the Barik formation using an electric submersible pump (ESP). The well has been completed as a producer and is being produced into the Farha South Early Production System for a long term production test. Read more…

KM LNG Files NEB Application for 20-Year Licence to Export LNG From British Columbia, Canada

KM LNG Operating General Partnership (“KM LNG”), an affiliate of Apache Corporation (NYSE:APA)(NASDAQ:APA), today announced that it has filed a licence application with the Canadian National Energy Board (“NEB”) for approval to export liquefied natural gas (“LNG”) from the planned Kitimat LNG Terminal (“Terminal”) located at Bish Cove, British Columbia. The application requests permission to export up to 10 million metric tons of LNG per year for a period of 20 years. This quantity matches the two-phased capacity design of the Terminal. Read more…

Australia Pacific LNG has confirmed that a comprehensive investigation into traces of BTEX found in produced water from its coal seam gas exploration activities in October has been completed. Update on Schedule with Regard to Drilling at “Leviathan 1″

Delek Group (TASE: DLEKG) (hereinafter: ‘the Company’) announced that today its subsidiaries, Avner Oil & Gas Exploration LP Delek Drilling LP, Delek Energy systems Ltd announced that following the report dated November 29, 2010, Noble Mediterranean, operator of the drill at “Leviathan 1″, informed the partners of an expected delay in completing the various inspections, including the electrical tests (logs) of the main layer (prospect NG10). SunPower and Iberdrola Renewables Sign Contract to Build 20-Megawatt Solar Power Plant in Arizona

SunPower Corp. (Nasdaq: SPWRA, SPWRB) today announced an agreement with Iberdrola Renewables to design and build a 20-megawatt (MW) photovoltaic solar power plant, Copper Crossing, on 144 acres of former private agricultural land in Pinal County, Arizona. The plant, which began construction this month and is expected to create approximately 200 jobs during construction, will be fully operational in 2011. Read more…
