E.ON extra-high voltage transmission network acquisition by TenneT now closed

TenneT Holding and E.ON AG have today completed the sale of E.ON’s extra-high voltage transmission network. All conditions of the sale have been fulfilled. In the takeover, TenneT has procured all shares in E.ON subsidiary, Transpower Stromübertragungs GmBH (transpower), with effect from 31 December 2009. The agreed company value amounts to EUR 885 million. The purchase price as of 25 February 2010 is based on the net financial position of transpower on 31 December 2009, which was determined to be approx. EUR 1.1 billion. This sum includes transpower’s current liquid assets as of the reference date.

PlanetSolar Unveils World’s Largest Solar Boat

PetroBakken Completes Acquisition of Berens

PetroBakken Energy Ltd. and Berens Energy Ltd. are pleased to announce the closing of the previously announced acquisition of Berens by PetroBakken. The acquisition of Berens was completed by way of amalgamation (“Amalgamation”) pursuant to an amalgamation agreement entered into on January 4, 2010 among Berens, PetroBakken and PetroBakken Acquisition Ltd. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of PetroBakken). Pursuant to the Amalgamation, each holder of a Berens share received one fully paid and non-assessable class A non-voting redeemable preferred share in the amalgamated company for each Berens share held, and that preferred share was immediately redeemed in exchange for a cash payment of $2.70 per share (the “Transaction”). The Transaction, including Berens’ indebtedness of approximately $72 million, is valued at approximately $343 million.

Samson Oil & Gas Commences Surface Work for the Ripsaw Well

Samson Oil & Gas Limited advises that a right of way agreement has been executed with the landowner holding the adjacent property to the surface location for the Ripsaw #1 well. This supplements the surface agreement previously reached with the landowner of the well site. The right of way agreement which allows the road construction to proceed took longer to settle than expected and consequently delayed the spud of the well from the previously advised end of February.

Copano Energy Reports Fourth Quarter and Year End 2009 Results

Copano Energy, L.L.C. today announced its financial results for the three months and year ended December 31, 2009.

“We are pleased with the improvement in the results of our operating segments for the fourth quarter,” said R. Bruce Northcutt, Copano Energy’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “Our total distributable cash flow continues to improve from the 2009 low and includes larger contributions from our operating assets and less from our hedging activities as commodity prices have improved during the year. We remain encouraged by our expansion projects in north and south Texas as a result of increased producer activity around our assets and expect these projects to provide growth in our distributable cash flow in 2010,” Northcutt said.

Southwest Gas Corporation Announces 2009 Earnings

Southwest Gas Corporation reported consolidated earnings of $1.95 per basic share for 2009, a $0.55 per share increase from the $1.40 per basic share earned in 2008. Consolidated net income for 2009 was $87.5 million, compared to $61 million during 2008.

Atlas Energy Announces Estimate of Net Recoverable Reserves from the Marcellus Shale Increases to 13 Tcfe

Atlas Energy, Inc. reported today that it has identified over 3,150 horizontal Marcellus Shale drilling locations on its acreage and estimates that the incremental net recoverable reserves from these locations are 13 trillion cubic feet equivalents (“Tcfe”). These figures assume 1,000 foot spacing between lateral well bores. Down spacing could result in additional horizontal locations and reserve potential. The Company’s reserve report includes 73 Marcellus Shale horizontal locations as proved undeveloped.
