Chevron Moves Wheatstone Project in Australia Closer to Commercialization

Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX)today announced the award of a major front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract for the first phase of the Wheatstone natural gas development in northwest Australia.Chevron awarded the contract for the first phase of the project – which consists of two liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing trains each with a capacity of about 4.3 million tons per year and a domestic gas plant – to Bechtel Oil, Gas & Chemicals, Inc. The facility will be supplied initially from Chevron’s 100 percent interest in the Wheatstone Field and the Chevron-operated Iago Field.

Gamesa and Huadian reach agreement for joint development of 200 MW wind farms in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region

Gamesa Corporación Tecnológica and Huadian New Energy Development Co., Ltd. have reached an agreement for the supply of Wind Turbines totalling 300 MW in wind power. The agreement includes 200 MW to be installed at wind projects jointly developed throughout 2009-2011 by Gamesa and Huadian in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region of China.

TAQA expands North Sea upstream and midstream positions with purchase of DSM Energy

The Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, TAQA Energy B.V., has reached an agreement with Netherlands based Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company Royal DSM N.V., to purchase 100% of the share capital of its wholly owned subsidiary DSM Energie Holding B.V. (DSM Energy). The intended acquisition is expected to close in Q3 2009, subject to regulatory approvals and notifications.

Iraq to hold second oil bid roadshow

REpower announces interim results for Q1 2009/10

According to initial calculations, REpower Systems AG (Prime Standard, WKN 617 703) generated a total operating performance of EUR 287.1 million in the first three months of fiscal year 2009/10, compared with a total operating performance of EUR 240.9 million in the same period of the previous year. Sales increased year-on-year from EUR 231.8 million to EUR 300.7 million. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) for the period from April to June 2009 totalled EUR 10.7 million compared with EUR 10.2 million in the previous year.
