Message from TAQA CEO Peter Barker-Homek

TAQA has achieved an astonishing amount in a very short period of time.  Since our foundation in 2005, we have built operations in nine markets in countries as different as Ghana and The Netherlands.  We own a wide variety of businesses worth in excess of AED68 billion (US$18.5 billion) and our 2,800 staff are among the very brightest and best in the industry.  In short, we have positioned ourselves right at the heart of the thriving energy sector of the 21st century – and our mission is not only to ensure we stay there but lead the industry into the future.

Founded with funds from a range of sources including the government of Abu Dhabi (through the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority, ADWEA) our strategic intent is simple: build a sustainable business that spans the width of the energy sector.  At Q1 2008, this means we have interests in power generation, water desalination and oil and gas production and storage.
