Buguruslanneft Discovered 8 Deposits in Old Areas and Incremented Its Oil Reserves by 5.5 Million Tons in the Last 8 Years

In 2000–2008, Buguruslanneft, a subsidiary of TNK-BP, discovered 8 new deposits in seven oil fields in the Orenburg Region and increased its oil reserves by 5.5 million tons, the press service of TNK-BP said to the Petroleum News Agency (ANI) citing the Chief Geologist Sergey Krotov.

Origin Energy CSG to LNG Joint Venture with ConocoPhillips receives FIRB approval

Origin Energy Limited (ASX: ORG) (“Origin”) today announced that ConocoPhillips has received approval from the Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) to acquire a 50% share of a CSG to LNG joint venture with Origin. The transaction is now unconditional.

StatoilHydro considers possible tie-back of Noatun to Njord

Recoverable reserves of the Noatun discovery have been estimated to be between five and eight million standard cubic metres of oil equivalent following the drilling of an appraisal well. A tie-back to the Njord field is being considered.

The Linde Group is to build a new air separation plant in the border region next to Basel

The technology group The Linde Group, via its Swiss subsidiary PanGas AG, is to build a new air separation plant in Muttenz, in the Swiss canton of Basel-Land, for around 68 million Swiss francs (44 million euro). The new plant, which will have a capacity of over 500 tons of liquefied nitrogen, oxygen and argon per day will come on stream in the late autumn of 2010.

SABIC Announces Preliminary Financial Results for the Period Ending September 30, 2008

The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) has reported net preliminary consolidated profits of SAR 21.71 billion for the first nine months of 2008, an increase of 8 percent, compared to the SAR 20.16 billion net profit in the same period last year. Profit per share is SAR 7.24 compared to SAR 6.72 in the same period last year (based on the number of existing shares of 3 billion), an increase of 8 percent. SABIC has also reported consolidated preliminary operating profits of SAR 35.58 billion for the third quarter (3Q) of 2008, compared to SAR 29.64 billion in the same period last year, an increase of 20 percent over the 3Q-2007.

SCHOTT Solar Announces Multi-Year Contract with AEE Solar
