Grenland Group improves safety on Petrobras platform

A state of the art Minox de-oxygenation system from Grenland Group contributes to improved safety, reduced CO2 emissions, reduced chemicals use and reduced corrosion in the process pipes of Petrobras’ P-18 platform. – Petrobras’ old fuel gas de-oxygenation system had some challenges related to safety and the environment. Our system is now removing oxygen from the injection water in a more safe, environmentally friendly and efficient way, says Hans Evald Henriksen in Grenland Group.

Mustang Awarded Front-End Engineering Design for Hess Corporations’s Pony Topsides

Mustang Engineering (“Mustang”), part of international energy services company John Wood Group PLC (“Wood Group”), has been awarded the front-end engineering design (FEED) for the topsides facilities on Hess Corporation’s (“Hess”, NYSE:HSE) Pony Deepwater Development. The Pony field is located in the Green Canyon area of the deepwater Gulf of Mexico, offshore Louisiana in approximately 3,500 feet of water. The current development plan includes subsea wells tied back to a floating processing facility. Mustang has been working with Hess over the past year, studying various field development configurations to develop this challenging reservoir. The FEED study is expected to be completed by year-end.

Wilson Shipowning AS, one of Europe’s leading short sea bulk carrier operators, has ordered Wärtsilä propulsion packages for a series of eight 4500-dwt general cargo bulk carriers. The vessels will be built by Shandong Baibuting Shipbuilding Co Ltd, in Qingdao, China.

Wavefield Inseis and Optoplan Awarded Contract for Permanent Seismic System

Wavefield Inseis ASA has been awarded a contract to supply an ocean bottom seismic sensor system for reservoir monitoring at the ConocoPhillips’ operated Ekofisk field in the North Sea. The contract will be executed through the Trondheim based company Optoplan AS – a fully owned subsidiary of Wavefield Inseis. Marine installation is planned for 2010 with the installation contract to be awarded at a later date.
