Etruscan’s Youga Gold Mine Produces Over 6,500 Ounces in September

(EET.TSX) reported today that its Youga Gold Mine located inBurkina Faso, West Africa poured in excess of 6,500 ounces of gold in the month of September representing 98% of the design output of 6,700 ounces per month. MODEC FSO hits One Billion Barrel offloading mark and 10 years of continuous operations

MODEC’s FSO Ta’Kuntah has reached a new milestone in the industry:  offloading one billion barrels of oil to 1,745 export tankers. The FSO, owned and operated by MODEC and leased to PEMEX Exploration and Production, celebrated ten years of continuous operation on September 14, 2008. Notable achievements include: one billion barrels offloaded as of August 26, 2008; first FSO in the Gulf of Mexico; 100% uptime throughout its operation; and no incidents of oil pollution.

SEATTLE (October 8, 2008) – 3TIER today released its new, long-range hydrologic forecasting product for the Columbia River Basin that provides real-time climate and streamflow predictions.

A Web-based product, the Columbia River Basin Monitor offers system operators and power marketers easy, reliable and cost-effective access to analyses of current basin conditions and long-range outlooks for the water year. The regional, long-range predictions include probabilistic monthly to seasonal runoff volume forecasts for multiple streamflow locations in the Pacific Northwest.

Star Bulk Delivers the Panamax ‘Star Iota’ to its Buyers

Athens, Greece, October 7, 2008 – Star Bulk Carriers Corp. (NASDAQ:SBLK) announced today that it has delivered the Star Iota, a Panamax bulk carrier of approximately 78,585 dwt, built in 1983 in S. Korea to its buyers. The Star Iota had been previously sold for approximately $18.3 million.
