Military and engineering contractor KBR Inc. said Wednesday it has received a $275 million construction and fabrication contract from North West Upgrading, a Calgary-based, privately owned company which is building an independent, heavy oil upgrader.The project is expected to last about 30 months and will peak with roughly 450 personnel.

Brazilian oil company Petrobras has confirmed plans to build a fourth new refinery in addition to two refineries and a petrochemical complex already in the pipeline. Petrobas is conducting studies to build the oil processing plant with a capacity above the average of its existing 11 plants- a 600,000 bpd premium refinery.
