Unique Hydra Secures DSCV Contract from Ultra Deep Solutions

Unique Hydra, a division of Unique Maritime Group (UMG) one of the world’s leading integrated turnkey subsea and offshore solutions provider, is delighted to announce that it has been selected by Ultra Deep Solutions (UDS) to design, build and integrate the dive system for a multipurpose Diving Support Construction Vessel (DSCV).

Forum Energy Technologies Awarded Contract for Eight Remotely Operated Vehicles

HOUSTON, Sep 02, 2014 (BUSINESS WIRE) – Forum Energy Technologies, Inc. FET, -0.24% today announced that it has received an order from Vard Holdings Limited (“VARD”) to supply eight Perry XLX 150HP work-class remotely operated vehicle (ROV) systems. The ROVs are to be mobilised on four new-build pipeline supply vessels (PLSV) for the joint venture formed by DOF Subsea and Technip that was awarded four contracts by Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. In order to understand the fatigue caused by metocean factors and to estimate remaining life of drilling and completion risers, riser monitoring systems are often installed. Although the global response data delivered by motion sensors make them the most popular approach for riser monitoring applications, strain gauges can also be used to measure local bending and curvature. These can be particularly useful where riser analysis highlights a specific area of concern. Strain gauges have been used for many years in the offshore industry, with a large number applications installed on a range of riser types.
