Arch Coal President and COO to speak at FBR 2009 Fall Investor Conference on December 2

Arch Coal, Inc. today announced that its President and Chief Operating Officer, John W. Eaves, will speak at the FBR Capital Markets 2009 Fall Investor Conference in New York City on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009.Interested investors may access a live audio webcast of the presentation at 1:35 p.m. E.S.T. on Dec. 2 at Arch Coal's Web site at http://investor.archcoal.com/events.cfm. A replay of the webcast also will be available at the same URL for 30 days.
St. Louis-based Arch Coal is the second largest U.S. coal producer. Through its national network of mines, Arch supplies cleaner-burning, low-sulfur coal to U.S. power producers to fuel roughly 8 percent of the nation's electricity. The company also ships coal to domestic and international steel manufacturers as well as international power producers.
